Welcome to the Monterey Rugby Football Club Website.  MRFC is based out of beautiful Monterey CA, just south of the San Francisco Bay area.  We are a Northern California Rugby Football Union Senior Men's Division III team and compete in the 15-a-side and 7-a-side NorCal competitions.

RECRUITING:

If you're interested in playing rugby for us, e-mail our team account: secretary@montereyrfc.org

NEXT MATCH:

The next match is against Vacaville, on Saturday 21 January.  Kickoff at 1 pm. (therefore, be at the fields at 11 am!)

Due to trashing the Gloria Jean field during the Fog match, the game has been moved to Preston Park.  Follow the Directions Link to get to the game.

PRACTICE:

Practices are at 6:30 PM Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Abrams Soccer Field at CSUMB, click here for map.  If you want to come out and practice with us, send Ramsey a message or give him a call at 224 3165.

PREVIOUS MATCH SUMMARY:

Reno - we had a lot of players turn up and this caused some confusion  at the start as we can only field 22 (15 on field and 7 subs).  Finally it was sorted out, although only having 21 jerseys is an issue, and we took the field in teeming rain.

The match was all Reno's from the start, who used superior teamwork and better ball skills to keep the play in their own half.  However, Monterey again showed outstanding defensive skills to keep the Reno boys down to two tries.

Man of the Match was Jarrod, and 'da boot' went to Ryan for scoring his first try.

Check out the match photo's.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

DUES

CIPP REGISTRATION AND PHOTO'S

This year, USA Rugby requires that every member has a USA Rugby photo ID card that shows who they are and their CIPP Registration.

The club holds on to everyone's ID Card and brings them to each match, along with your signed waiver forms, as proof that you are registered and have insurance.

So, every player will be required to sign a Waiver, get their photo taken, and fill in a NEW player profile before they can play their first match

Club Dues are $100, this covers your CIPP registration ($50), and club costs.

Please pay by cheque or cash, or paypal (got to love technology!) to either Carrissa Ibbott, Peter Ibbott, Ramsey Borthwick or HB

No Dues, you don't play!

-If you'd like to donate money to Monterey RFC (please do!) click on the secure "make a donation" button under our team officers list.  Thanks for your donation.  We take Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.

Any questions, e-mail Carrissa (webmaster) at: secretary@montereyrfc.org. -We're sad to report that one of our players, Fred Crocker passed away Tuesday 24 May 2005.  Fred was a constant presence in the Monterey and Bay area rugby programs and will be sorely missed.

-The Monterey Bay 7s 1st place Cup will be named the Crocker Cup, in memory of Fred Crocker.
